Prayers for Lena

Please pray for our own chaplains and employee of HFalls.  Lena Lisbony is our park Operations Manager. Over the weekend a good friend of Lena's was killed in a head on collision.  It is a young lady she has known since 3rd grade.  Pray for her tonight as she goes to the viewing and then the funeral tomorrow at 2:00 pm at Pilot Point.  Lena will be around the park in the morning and there on Friday.  Just pray and encourage her however the Spirit leads you.

Thanks for being the hands and feet of Jesus to hundreds of employees and thousands of guests this summer.

1st Connections Prayer

Hello everyone,

Connections kick off was great!!! It was so great to meet you all in person and I am thrilled to see what this summer holds as we minister to the lives of those at Hawaiian Falls!
As instructed, I am sending this email in order to share the prayer request cards that were filled out, tonight we had one:

"Please pray for my family. My brother is going through that rebel stage and has recently been causing issues between my parents. Thank ya'll so much!" -Baleigh

Let's join in prayer for Baleigh's need as we know the Lord has the power to transform lives from the inside out and is able to provide patience and peace during this time.
Psalm 9:9-10 says “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

God bless,
Darlene Gonzalez

Leaders Perspire

I Cor 9:19-23
19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

The ultimate in life is to find Christ.  It just makes sense that it is almost as important to help others find Christ.

Paul says I have become all things to all people to win some.  We should too.

Lets take that a step back and apply it to leadership.  Just as there are different kinds of people who need different strategies to be won to Christ, there are different types of leaderhsip needed to pull organizations forward.

In shadow of every strength grows a weekness.

CHOLERIC LEADER
Requires:  a get it done person. They shine when there is a fire brewing.  When the heat is on.  When things have to be done and someone needs to take control.
Inspires:  Heroic action
Misfires:  When there is more than one leader or there is no fire
Transpires:  Accomplishment OR dead bodies

RELATIONAL LEADER
Requires:  A leaders who amasses influence by giving and serving in relationship
Inspires: People follow because they like you
Misfires: If people dont like you, they wont follow.
Transpires:  Team OR happy lethargy

POSITIONAL LEADER
Requires:  The org chart says they are the leader so they are.
Inspires:  Work done for the annual review or begrudgingly
Misfires:  When there are holes in the org chart or the organization doesnt adhere strictly to it
Transpires:  Tasks completed OR passive resistance

INSPIRATIONAL (aka visionary)
Requires:  a motivator, a visionary
Inspires:  selfless and inner action
Misfires:  when the feeling fades
Transpires:  Passionate people OR indifference

TEAM LEADERSHIP
Requires:  like minded people and a secure leader, freedom to do and fail
Inspires:  synergy and interdependent results
Misfires:  not everyone pulls their load or communication is challenged
Transpires:  work produced with buyin built in. Also results are multiplied

SERVANT LEADERSHIP
Requires:  a secure and selfless leader who sees the big picture (most likely a believer)
Inspires:  selflessness and concern for others. Results are second to character, people and service
Misfires:  when it becomes a rote formula (legalism)
Transpires:  a culture of amazing people how get the right

Easter is...

Easter is the most significant and important holiday of the Christain faith. It is an anual reminder of the enemies loss and beatdown.  Without Easter everything else is vain.  Christmas is important too and should not to be undermined. Without Christmas there would be no Easter.  Christmas is birth. Easter is death and then life over death. Easter is resurrection, Christs triumph over death!

Easter is more than being born, it is being born into eternity. It is being born supernaturally. It is not being born a human but being born as a child of God. God almighty, creator of heaven and earth. He died that we can live.

Easter is literally life: life past, life now, life in the future and life for everyone forever to come!!

Hope your Easter was a party... Time to celebrate.  Not only did Christ win over death but life in Christ wins always.

Life in Christ wins!

Without him there is no life.

Happy Easter, He is risen.
